Historically, sanctimonious people's shortcomings draw the greatest press. We love to watch the (self-) righteous fall.
So, this story will bring smiles to many faces over Saturday morning coffee all over the United States of America (Blue Division).
Why? Well, the President told us that he doesn't read newspapers, and that he doesn't care about what news organizations say about him, or his policies. Well, apparently somebody does!
What we know is this: Karl Rove is as clever a manipulator of images, language and meaning frames as has ever come to Washington. Nothing of this ilk could ever take place without his approval.
As somebody said years ago, "follow the money."
