Yesterday was one of those classic NY kind of days.
Started out at our place in Manhattan (where I'm staying while Karen basks in the glow of grandmotherhood in Boston) and headed over to Brooklyn for some exploratory shopping. Here's some of what I saw.
Samurai wall art:
Marketing, Brooklyn style:
Jewelry merchandised on handmade miniature mannequins at a lovely little Nepalese shop (where I got Karen a Mother's Day gift, but don't anybody tell her!):
And so on.
Then, back over to Manhattan and down to J&R Music World for some compusupplies. A short rest, then off to the Met for a wonderful performance of Puccini's Tosca with the Lovely Miss Peggy, Mr. Paul and Ms. Lauren (pitch hitting for Karen).
Ending up with a nice ovation for very good performances of Tosca and Cavaradossi.
An enormous range of choices. That's why people love this city.
