At the end of a lovely holiday weekend, I check NewNewsWire before turning in and find this little gem from Doc Searls:

It's worth reading the whole thing to understand the context, but suffice it to say that your willingness to "let other people handle it" is in inverse relationship with your ability to succeed in tomorrow's world.
You have been put on notice. Decisions about outsourcing and maintaining organizational competence will be definitive.

In this context "resourceful" definitely means being open to input from others, while not abdicating authority over your project. It does seem paradoxical, and ultimately returns the the philosophical battle between free will and determinism...
Luck is also a factor, as for what degree luck is the ability to be unconciously resourceful I'm undecided.
