Tonight's Bob Lutz post is all wheely-frosting. Tasty, but not much substance.
Sure, it's nice to hear him talk about what he's driving now and about GM's dedication to rear-wheel drive (boxers or briefs, Bob?) and that cute little H3!
But some of us want corporate drama, Bob!
OK, you get one pass. But next week's assignment: how design can overcome junk-bond status!

How about doing a concept based on the 1957 Cadillac Eldorado Biraritz. It was a beautiful vehicle, well ahead of its time. Maybe with some minor changes it could be shown at one of the auto shows to gage customer response. I know I, for one, would put my order in immediately.

I have attended Eyes on Design for two years and recently got in conversation with a GM excec who told me about the Warren collection of concept cars and the inclusion of the Cadillac Museum cars. I would like contact numbers for the Warren Tech Center Museum and any dates of open house events if possible. Unfortunately I missed the big celebration of Eyes on Design held at the Warren Facility. Any leads would be helpful. GM has a talent for making a puzzle out of what should be a transparent promotional opportunity just as they have an instinct for divesting themselvs of "bothersome" market share. The facility seems to sit locked and closed to the public with no information available and no responses from the staff to letters, although this could be because no one working there speaks or reads english. Any help? I annually trek to all the majjor concours nation wide and would like to see the contents of the GM facility.
I would appreciate it greatly, thanks.
