Ah, Friday. Here's the foto:
These little gems were sitting on a table a half-block from New York's Museum of Modern Art. I humbly submit to you that they definitely belonged in that esteemed company. Because, like so many of the objects in that temple of modernity, they're remarkable examples of their class.
We've become so accustomed to categorizing things as "special" or "mundane," that many of us have lost the ability to discern quality as a feature that dwells in all things. And so, while this painting is undoubtedly remarkable, spectacular in fact, these little finger puppets are remarkable as well. And, while millions will file by the Van Gogh this year, many simply noting the artist's name and stocking it away in the trophy collection of "things seen," millions more will hurry by the street vendor's table without a second thought, rushing past to see "the art" down the block.
We need to practice: Stop, Look, Find Quality.
Don't pre-judge where it will be, because in doing so, you'll miss most of it.

Those finger puppets would be a great gift for my neices & nephews. Were they on Fifth Ave? Also, just noticed there is a family in the clouds above The Olive Trees.
