My good friend Marie Rao and I have just recorded our first episode of The Shopping Podcast. It's an occasional look at where to shop and what to buy when you get there.
A little background. Marie's been in the retail business for almost 30 years. She recently left her position as President of Limited Design Services, a design think tank at LimitedBrands. She was at Limited Design for the last eight years, where she and her team were responsible for producing new products for Victoria's Secret, Express, and Bath & Body Works. PINK, the hot new VS sub-brand for young women, came out of Marie's shop. Before her tenure at Limited, Marie was President of Banana Republic for almost five years. Marie and I started working together 15 years ago, and have become good friends as well as collaborators over than time.
We felt it would be fun to record a podcast that gives listeners the benefit of an experienced designer's take on what you'll find in stores near you. There'll always be some interesting tips about must have items and bargains. At the end of each show, we'll rate the store on our 1-5 ShopClock Scale: 1 ShopClock means, "What are they kidding with this store?" with 5 ShopClocks being, "Why are you still sitting there listening to us?"
So, if you have some time, zip on over to www.theshoppingpodcast.com and listen to our review of Intermix. Tip: if you listen in iTunes you'll be able to see images of many of the items we discuss. We hope you like what you hear enough to subscribe via iTunes.
We now return to our regular programming.
