Not fussy enough. Often times after I hear about a person doing a ton of research on a product they buy, they read this, they read that, bought this one vs. that one because of one certain thing, etc. Then I sit there and say "damn, I just bought the one that was on sale and had the cool box!"
(For instance, we have a god damn bird feeder sitting at our house that was probably researched more then our 30 thousand dollar vehicle!!!)

That being said, with electronics/techie stuff I am particularly fussy. I will always ask the advice of a few techie geeks I know (TLG847)on what they would recommend, go to cnet.com for reviews, etc. But even then I don't always rely solely on reviews.

The category I am probably the fussiest about is customer satisfaction. A review could be kinda bad but in the end if the person says "but the camera has been good to me, taken good pictures and never broken" I think that is the bottom line.

One other thing about my buying habits is that when I decide to buy something I usually act quick. I don't flip flop back and forth. I just pull the trigger. Well that is except for televisions... I am taking my time on that one.

Hope my blathering helped your project.

Depends on the $ value of the product. The more $ spent on something the more I want to feel good about buying it even if it isn't listed as the best.
We want to buy replacement windows, but the quality various as does the installation, so I want to find others in the area who are happy with both before I pull that trigger.
For everyday stuff or stuff that will be used up quick (and I don't have to look at my bad buying decision for too long) I will go for the cheap or experimental.

    Oooh - fun audience participation!

To me, fussy means being very particular about what I want and purchasing an item that fulfills all those particulars. If one particular is not met, it's a deal-breaker.

These are things I'm fussy about buying:

Jewelry, no matter the cost. I could be at a $4 bargain table and be as picky as at a fancy jewelry store. The piece must have a certain weight, feel, material and fulfill a specific need to be on trend or whatever. I've been known to spend 30 minutes in the Target accessories department and walk out with not even a bangle bracelet.
