I find blogging on TypePad's interface to be a little cumbersome. I'm trying out Ecto as a new posting editor. Anybody out there have any experience with Ecto you'd care to share?

I use Ecto every now and then (on a windows desktop and interfacing with a self hosted WordPress blog). I think it has an easy interface for writing posts.
It has some quircks while starting up though, it appears and disappears a couple of times (but that might also be a personal issue...).
There's an annoying default option where the creation date of a post is kept, even when you post it two weeks later. You can change that option to default to "now".
But I find that I still go to the html/code section a lot anyway. I like clean code, and it doesn't always succeed in that.

Hi Tom :-)
After I've switched from my Dell (using BlogJet as the default Blog Editor) I've been looking for a similar application for my new MacBook. After I've tried a blog application which name I forgot in the meantime I've landed at Ecto.
After some days (getting into the logic of the application in contrast to BlogJet) I've felt quite satisfied with it and the developer seems to invest some reasonable time in getting the SW further (at least I get an automatic update request each week on average).
From my perspective it's definitively worth the money and the 3.0 beta runs quite stable according to my experiences. - So go for it!
