Hi Tom,
Your thoughts here made me think of a book I'm just finishing up titled, Thank You For Arguing. You might like it.
The subject of the book is rhetoric and it's application to our lives. It's a thoughtful and entertaining book with practical wisdom for us.
It's worth looking into.
