Now that I have Google Wave, can someone tell me what I'm supposed to do with it? As a normal human being?

I've had it for a little while. Looks like another time-killer for social networking addicts.
I've been using Etherpad as a collaborative tool for my students to be able to build textual projects together.
It's beautifully simple.

Hi Tom, this video gives a clue.

It's pretty clear people really want invites.

I hope that is a little helpful. I think maybe you're looking for some practical examples. The google video seems to have a little bit of demonstration.

I've been afraid to ask what it's all about or to beg for invites, because I know I'll lose full weeks into it. Not that that would be a bad thing, necessarily...

Well, let me know when you get your hands on it and want to waste some time, Ken. So far, I haven't wasted too much 'cause I have no idea how to!

You could send me an invite. :)
I assumed I'd get one as a developer with sandbox access. I was wrong.

As a somewhat normal person I'd planned to do some fun things with the API embedding waves in my website - for comments, or perhaps as a communication page for the semi-annual family Christmas circus. But until they implement the public option (no, not that one!) it's not viewable by anyone who doesn't have a wave account, i.e. not useful. And the embedded waves I did with my developer sandbox account are not viewable by people with preview accounts.
At this point it's just unrealized potential.

I got an invite and signed up and now I don't know what to do with it.
