Two weeks ago yesterday I had serious surgery on my back. After experiencing awful pain on New Years Eve day, I had an MRI that revealed serious stenosis in the lumbar area and a ruptured disk at L4-L5.
Surgery was prescribed as the only remedy.
That surgery went very well, with several new parts now added to my spinal column for structural support. After an amazingly short hospital stay (72 hours post-surgery I was in a car on my way home!) I returned home and began rehabilitating by simply walking around my house about every half hour. Progress has been encouragingly steady and the post-surgical pain is practically gone. I'm feeling stronger daily.
Thanks to all of you who expressed well-wishes through Twitter.
And so, now that my back is better, it's back to blogging. A few things struck me as interesting over these past two weeks. I'll get to them soon.
Talk soon!
