I'll have more to say about the very stimulating Vendor Relationship Management (VRM) Workshop I attended in Boston over the last couple of days, but I wanted to be sure to get this video posted pronto. This is Doc Searls, one of the authors of the Cluetrain Manifesto, outlining some of the key principles underlying VRM earlier today. Watching Doc's talk is well worth the time.

Customer-Brand Relationships

I'm in Boston for the next couple of days, attending the Project VRM Workshop at Harvard's Berkman  Center. VRM = Vendor Relationship Management. Special thanks to Doc Searls for organizing the event.

I'm interested in this area for a couple of reasons. First, our clients need to understand what's happening in the world of customer relationships. The most forward thinking companies will be looking for new ways to communicate with customers and to frame business transactions. Second, we're thinking about ways in which the video-driven community being designed by myself and several colleagues can enable a different kind of relationship between our members and the brands they do business with. Exciting stuff. I'll keep you informed about the workshop.
